Anyone know anything about the new 1.6L BEGI Supercharger???
I didn't know 141whp was that expensive nowadays.
BEGi sold me 180whp for $1200 not too long ago.
EDIT: I'm sure you've got some headroom there Corky, but it looks like a stinker of an entry level kit. Except I see a lot of the cost has to be in the main components that stay, like the blower and that nice looking manifold.
This same setup would also surely make more power with a MS.

Superchargers aren't cheap. More expensive than Garrett turbos, and intake manifolds are more expensive that exhaust manifolds. Unfortunately, what drives up the cost, too, is all the machined parts. Turbos will always been superchargers on a cost per horsepower gained any given day.

While it's important to keep all intake air as cool as possible, you don't want to try to cool the air being drawn into the blower. You want to cool it after it has been compressed, either with water, fuel, methanol, or via a heat exchanger like an air/water or air/air intercooler.
From the BEGI website
SC size options are very clearly related to the potential power output of the system. In that regard, our 1.6 cold side system offers the M45 or the M62 Eaton SC. It is generally regarded that the M45 is limited to about 145 rwhp.

I wonder where the 1.6s are?...

Is that a one 1.6 app? YAYYYYY....oh...wait its a M45....damn
Curiously, FFS's website blows and the store isn't working. I know they were developing a M62 1.6 kit and it was prototyped. That doesn't count as a production kit as far as I'm concerned.
What are you even talking about? Moss has never made a coldside of any kind and FFS only makes the MP62 coldside for the 1.8, though they have at least one tester with an MP62 for the 1.6. You asked if Begi's dyno run was made with an M45 or an M62 [sic] and I answered you. If you know so much about them why did you ask in the first place?
04 Miata, I was only going by BEGI's product page, not their article/blog on the coldside where they mention the M45. I don't see where you can actually order a BEGI coldside with an M45. I don't think they will bolt up to the same manifold, but I could be wrong.
