Can You Powder Coat The Blower Outlet Plenum?
Howdy
I'm currently trying to refresh an MP62 hotside kit I just bought. Initially I was just wanting to strip the mounts and blower outlet plenum then paint all them with a high heat engine enamel. The person who is stripping them thinks powder coat would hold up on the plenum. Thoughts on the powder coat as well as the engine enamel?
These mounts came with some nasty textured coating on them.

I think Powder coating would hold up a tad better. I completely sanded down my HBA bracket, added etching primer then used high temp paint. Overall, it holds up pretty decently, but the edges wear just like your plenum. I only did like 1 coat though and didn't wait more than a day for it to cure. I've also used crinkle paint on my valve cover and throttle body to match the charger. Holds up well as long as you give it some primer and a heat gun to trigger the cure. Air drying was utter crap and I didn't want to use the oven.

I would cerakote it with air cure cerakote like the glacier series. Super high heat resistance, thin coating, chemical resistant. At our custom car shop we use it on everything from wheels to turbo manifolds. Originally designed for machine guns and suppressors (air cure series)
I cerakoted my m45 with the overcure in midnight bronze and it looks rad.
