Cost of used mp62/mp45(NA8)
Used SCs seem to be few and far between for sale used. All of the old threads in the for sale section have the price stripped once it is sold so I can't get a good idea of what they go for used.
What can I expect to pay with fuel card used, ready to roll?
Trying to map out my options. I think I can build a turbo setup cheaper but the cost/complexity of MS is a deterrent. However, I only want 150-175 hp...and a supercharger would fit my driving style better .

I bought a fairly complete setup about 5 years back. MP62, MSPnP, larger throttle body, higher boost pulley, Devil's Own water injection, and I think some gauges. Whole mess was about 3 grand.
Along the way I've upgraded things like the clutch, exhaust, bought several versions of wideband, etc. Probably have $3500-4000 tied up into in all told, but some parts are duplicates and may be sold later.
Turbo is probably easier, cheaper and more reliable. But I like to be contrary.

It's really going to depend on what you get. A shoddy looking M45 setup isn't worth much more than $1k to me, and I watched one sit on CL for months at $1500. I paid a bit under $3k for my MP62 with TDR intercooler, TDR header blanket, upgraded pulleys, injectors, huge throttle body and a dummy stock replacement, and an automatic tensioner. I think it may have been a bit high compared to market, but I am not the least bit disappointed with what I got for my money. They don't come up for sale often and mine looks to be in really great shape.

Honestly, at the price point, MKTurbo is pretty amazing and well endorsed here. If you don't want MS, then buy a piggyback. You'll get a hard time from folks around here, but you could do 8psi to hit that power level easy, like FlyinMiata kits. A smaller turbo's power delivery won't be too far off from a PD Blower and keep pretty good response.

There is a brand new (never installed) m45 for sale on miata.net. It's for a 1.6 but you could modify it to work with a 1.8.Price is kinda high though.

I paid $1250 for a complete BRP kit with TDR INTERCOOLER. It came with 2 non functioning blowers. I had one rebuilt by Jon bond, including new bypass valve, and the other Jon bought for parts. After the parts credit I paid around $500 for the rebuild. Kit included the large TB as well. So complete fresh kit for under $1800 (no injectors)

This collection of parts has been sleeping uneventfully on my garage shelf for all of the intervening years. I've not yet decided what to do with it... keep and use as-is, modify, or sell.
