M45 Kit Components
 

Hello MT community, I am finally joining the forced induction club! I know I will get a lot of crap for buying a second hand JR kit but I managed to get it down to 2000 with MegaSquirt and upgrades ! I need the community's help I am not really sure if all the parts listed are being sent over since there are a few upgrades included. I've attached the ad and the photos that were sent to me. Can anyone identify what's missing or if everything is there? I would really appreciate any help I can get. Just trying not to be ripped off since I am still a :noob: Planning to upgrade the intercooler, Supra injectors, and eventually the AEM water/meth injection.

It looks like everything is there, I don't notice anything missing. It looks like a later version of the supercharger and its nice to have the pulley options. Definitley ad an intercooler if you plan to run those track dog pulleys.

As I mentioned over on M.net, those pulleys will result in a 2.4/1 ratio which will over-speed that blower by at least 2500 rpm. Additionally, the M45 becomes far less efficient (yes, it's possible) at those speeds, with a great deal of the potential gains from the increase being lost to severely increased IAT's and the timing surrendered for it. An IC and some injection will certainly help, but if you're set on a SC, you may want to consider an MP62 over the M45 as a better starting point.

To be honest this is temporary id like to get anywhere from 170-200WHP nothing more just for this season. I have already began gathering turbo parts for next season for a high horsepower build. I only wanted to pick this up because I thought it was a good price including the MS.

From what I've red people have run the setup but like you said it causes lots of heat and has resulted in the bearings giving out early due to the over spinning. What do you think would be best, switching out the nose/pulley wise in order to still maintain good power and be able to keep it between 6-8 psi

I would suggest fabricating or purchasing some sort of heat shield that will protect the supercharger from radiant heat from the header. I have a racing beat header on my setup and made a stainless steel heat shield. I have noticed that any instances of heat soak / high intake air temps have been reduced. (in the neighborhood of around 15 degrees farenheit)

Changing the oil in the supercharger while you have it off wouldnt be a bad idea, especially since I see your kit comes with some extra oil. 4 oz ought to do it.

All that being said I think 170 is do-able, but 200 is going to be tough. I make around 140, stock nose pulley and afpr / bipes band-aids set-up. Intercooler will be a must have for you, and make sure you clean and oil that air filter! I have read that the water to air intercoolers are not worth the time, but can not speak from experience.

It's a check valve to keep boost pressure from leaking out through the idle air circuit.

Not sure where to find those. Try TDR or Moss.

Won't he need a timing card and fuel control card fo running the sc?

You can run this supercharger and it will run off the factory ecu, up to 6 pounds of boost, but he does have a megasquirt in that picture.

Or something that doesn't suck.
