Default Rotrex with CVT

I am interested if anyone has a link to any developments with anyone combining a rotrex with CVT for high boost at low RPM.

Did you read the tread on miata.net? It appears that there are several companies on the brink of making this happen.

Well, thats what I gathered, from my quick skim of the thread.

Why don't you introduce yourself. Put your location up, and put a description of your car in your signature.

Hello,
I am in Ohio.
I put the Kraftwerks base kit in. I have a LS 2002. I put 550cc injectors, removed the restrictor, IC and engine management. I have 234WHP now. I am disappointed. I think the CVT (Rotrak maybe is one outfit) would be the ticket for more torque down low. Yes, I am over there at mt.net. There is not much info or interest on CVT over there.

I think I would disagree with your assessment that there is little interest in a CVT Rotrex; my assessment is there is lots of pentup interest, just little to get interested in.

where in Ohio are you, I live in Tenn, but am working on long-term project in southern Ohio; I dont find as much miata activity in Ohio as I do in TN, but continue looking

A rotrex with a CVT is called a turbo. Now that the various track-duty issues have been solved, with Inconel studs and Vbands and wired nuts and whatever, I cannot see how a CVT rotrex is going to be simpler/less complicated than a turbo. A turbo with a wastegate has a CVT.

nagh, a Rotrex with a CVT is just that, a Rotrex with a CVT
I do agree with you on the complexity that will accompany a CVT-Rotrex
[what to do with the surplus air quietly when not in boost just being one]

been a while since I have been on the board, and I see I should update my profile

The Rotrex (C30-74, and related A/W intercooler) is in a box headed across the Atlantic to it's new owner in France.
When removed, the JR header, Cobalt cat-delete midpipe and Borla dual is headed to it's new owner in Florida.

My 94M is headed to Spring Branch, TX late next week for a BEGi "S-4" (GT 2860 RS, S/S SGDP, 3" dual; and yes, Inconel studs).

Stephanie says the install should be complete about Halloween, all the better to scare the pants off any lovely lady who might dare occupy the passenger seat that night.

Boo!

LOL

You want more torque. You want more power.

And considering spending EVEN MORE money on new technology that will try to make the rotrex do what it wasn't designed to do in the 1st place?

And you STILL don't want to go turbo?

WOWWWW
