3.308
I'm building a list to see how many sets people want so far.
So I can cross-reference between real names from Facebook and silly forum names here and get an accurate count, please email me @ Bill@MiataRoadster.com with: the # of sets you want, your full name, shipping address, and phone #.
Details will be announced formally later this week.
Thanks,
Bill

If you're cruising at 80 on the highway would you rather be at 3850rpms with 3.90s or at 3250rpms with 3.30s?
I have to think above 300whp you're going to pick up some significant overall acceleration compared to stock gearing with a 6 speed. 3.90s are great with 100hp, but as power increases you're really rowing though the gears. Maybe it's different for all out track cars, but these seem like a great idea for those of us who spend most of our time on the street.

the 3.308 to me is interesting because it might make some other transmission work that might be light and strong. I don't know what one that would be however. The stock six speed has 4 track useable gears I would be slower with less. A 5 speed Jerico maybe.
I'm pro 3.3s because I care about cruising speeds and rev'ing past 4-4.5k while cruising is plain annoying and pointless....bringing that entire range down ~1k would be amazing and make the car a more livable vehicle. (I have 4.10s now in the MSM)
Do we know what the group buy price difference is going to be? Thats what stopping me now. I dont have any need for these gears until next off season, but if the price difference is going to be significant I'll buy them now and sit on them.
I know it sucks to have to cough up $540 for a lot of people. Believe me, I don't want to sink any more money into my car, but I'm going to do it for these gears. Leafy, I know you want to wait, as well as others. But, if Bill can't get 15 people on board - no one gets any 3.308s - EVER.
For me, it makes entire sense throughout the gear range. I can take off from a start without spinning and I can cruise on the highway at 3000 instead of 3800. As I said, this would truly complete my set up for what I want out of the car - a fast, sleeper street car, powerful with great handling.
I'm begging you guys - whoever is serious about getting these, please get them now. I don't want to have to do some huge hybrid trans swap in the future to be able to do what these gears can do for me, for a LOT less time and $$$.

You will probably not loose more than $100 (if you will loose at all) reselling a new set.

I only use 2nd gear with the 4:10. But with these gears I could use 2nd gear of a 6 speed and run ALLOFIT.
