5 spd transmission blown...is it safe to drive to another state
I'd drive it, but I'd drive sanely. Metal chunks don't float and I doubt they will float up into the rotating assembly.
Busted several manuals in my day but the only one I couldn't drive was a fwd that detonated both spider gears. That broke dick dog won't hunt

I did 450 miles with a blown 3rd gear, just put my headphones in to drown out the change in the washer machine noise, and crossed my fingers. I had AAA on speed dial, but figured there was no reason to use it so long as it would still drive.
You still have that 5 spd? Would be awesome if you did! I'll be back in Houston the 28th - 31st of July before I drive up to Arkansas, maybe can swing by and pick it up off ya depending on the condition.
How many miles on it and was it driven naturally aspirated or turbo'd before removal?
