5-speed internal arch
I have interest in the learning more about the 5-speed internals. Is this video showing the same internal architecture as the Miata 5-speed?
Or is there another video that matches more closely the Miata transmission internals?

Yeah, that's how most 5spds work. Though I'm a bigger fan of the old Army / GM PSA's..

Okay, if the video covers the architecture of the Miata 5-speed, then I see some opportunity for focusing it for my racing use case and getting a little more efficiency.
Along with some marginal compromise of course

I’d say watch the videos above and several others until you have a solid conceptual understanding of manual transmissions, then study the explodes parts diagrams of the Miata box.
What are you trying to improve?

I will be seeking to improve the transmission efficiency for my racing application, by removing rotating mass that is not contributing or performing.
and in a minor way, removing static mass that does not perform essential functions in my racing application.
