550/380 range springs?
 

So, I've been trying to get a good grip on suspensions in the last month or so, but I haven't found any spring rates I believe will be more to my liking. The FM, Eibach, H&R and etc are all fine and such, but I was looking for something stiffer yet. I will be going with a coilover setup, and am leaning towards one over others, but doesn't matter too much yet. I am just making an inquiry as to which companies make just the springs in rates upward of 500 front and 380 rear, with a range of probably 500-680 front, and 340 to 450 rear. I can find them on the coilover kits such as tien and ohlins, but not as a spring set. Anyhow, thanks for the help, sorry if it is right in front of me, but I couldn't find them.

Think thats about what I'm running, really not as harsh as I thought when I bought them. I'd go stiffer if I did it again. Just buy some dampers to match your spring rates and you will be set up.

I run 550/350. I feel exactly like he does.

450/375 and loving it...a bit harsh because of my bilsteins though.

looking to the FCM bumstops. They can help stiffen your ride.

I've seen softer springs match with FCM bumps and illuminas/agx/bilstens etc that offer just as much dampening.

Cool, glad to see people are ok with the ride offered by these springs. I will be matching dampers with my spring rates, most likely by going through FCM for some revalves, but we shall see. My main Questions is where can I find springs in this range, because all I've seen thus far are between 250-380 front rates, not steep enough for me, I believe. Any ideas where to find some stiff ones?

If you are going with that kind of rate, you are going with a custom coilover sleeve that takes 2.5 or 2.25 springs, nobody uses stock size springs on such high rates.

As for availability, bunch of companies offer spring rates and lengths and diameters to suit your need.

I run Eibach springs.

I guess I should have mentioned 2.5" size. So I just need to find a company that sells the size and give them numbers pretty much?

I'm looking to do the same as the OP as far as rates go, BUT I was trying to see if I could get away with just using the perches on my Bilsteins, rather than going w/ GC's or whatnot...
Maybe I'm on the verge of answering my own question, and it was mentioned earlier as well, BUT I can't seem to find these types of rates with large enough diameter to utilize on the perches...
So is it a fact that to use these types of rates, the only option is to get sleeves which support 2-2.5" diameter springs??? Or is there some other way such as an adapter, or different perch or something??

You need coilovers to use 2.5 springs. I doubt anyone could find standard replacement springs in this spring rates.

Pretty much what frank says, I have the GC sleeves, great units, very straight forward installation and great range of hight adjustment on my konis...great bang for buck.
I run the Eibach 2.5" springs in 650 front 450 rear...needs a bit more in front, I think I will go for 750 once i re-valve the front.
The rear is a bit loose, but i like that :naughty:
lol, but that is due to a 12mm rear swaybar, I will try to tone it down a bit by altering the motion range to get desired bar rate.

im going with 550/300 + rb tubular front bar and oem rear bar for perfectly neutral setup ;)

its not really THAT harsh

700/450, 20k miles on them. Really not harsh. People have said that compared to a standard 450/300 Koni Sport setup, the 700/450 RACEs are actually better on the street.

Bullshit, I drove my car for a grand total of 2-3 miles before I sent it off for paint last week.

450/300 Bilsteins, FCM Bumps, FCM Sleeves, RB Tubular, OEM rear bars.

It is stiff, period, you feel everything, you avoid every single inconsistancy in the road.

It is a race/sports car suspension, you are not taking grandma to church with this kind of setup without her noticing.

In my situation, the closer my car is to a racecar the more I like it, but it isn't like a OEM equivalent setup with some lowering springs.

I just rode in a buddy's car that swapped to GC's over Tokico's, running 500/350 and there was no harshness to be had... The shocks weren't full stiff, but still no harshness..only niceness!

Anyway, yea the reason for the question (and thanks for the answers) was I was trying to find a way to save some coin, while still being able to get those kind of rates...
I have Bilstein's on the shelf that I'm trying to utilize..

I think your Bilstein's might have alot to do with the harSHness...(edit-lol)

rear bars are for suckers....

I had bilsteins and now have konis, I feel as though my konis are way smoother, even if they are paired with heavy springs.
