ACT Clutch Owners- Which Clutch Slave???
Hey everyone,
I am wondering what the recommended clutch slave cylinder is for a stronger clutch? My current slave cylinder (not sure on brand) on the car looked to be in good condition internally and externally(no rust inside and out), no leaks with stock clutch. But when i installed my 1.6 sized ACT Xtreme Pressure Plate clutch it slowly started to leak. Went down about 1/4 inch fluid in reservoir, so i did a rebuild with new piston/seal. Bore was very clean and new piston went in tight, but only lasted 5 months. The harder clutch pedals means more pressure in the system.
What clutch slave are you running with your ACT that works?

Yep, mine looks like the exedy if going by pics online. I had a used clutch slave that was on a spare transmission, it was rusty but did not appear to be leaking so i ran the piston/seal from it in mine just to try, was fine more 6-8 months just leaked very slowly. But the brand new one from the rebuild kit completely f'd off at 5ish months, pedal went dead one day. So trying to avoid this again if possible.

The stock one. They are very picky about fluid cleanliness, if you don't flush the clutch fluid once a year they will fail. I am too lazy to do that so I carry a spare, wait until I notice an issue, then replace it and flush the system all at once, usually every 2-3 years.

Auto parts store stock replacement with XTSS has lasted for several years. I flush the fluid annually. It seems like I'm always flushing brake fluid for a track day and it is easy to do the clutch at the same time.
