Anybody quiet down a noisy Findanza FW ?
Well, my kid learned to drive stick on my 91 1.6.... Gonna be time to replace the clutch soon.
The 9 pound Fidanza Flywheel has always made an annoying racket.
I can throw in a stock flywheel but I'm wondering if the Fidanza can be quieted down somehow (?)
I'm not even sure what in the drive train makes the noise (?)
Thanks

I tried this on a 1.8 flywheel, it barely saved a pound and was not worth it. The stock 1.6 flywheel has a little more material that you can remove but again its just not worth the time and money.
I have an 11lb Competition Clutch flywheel and that makes a little noise at idle, and a bit of a buzz on decel in higher gears (mostly 4th). The 13lb flywheels are probably the best option if you would like to compromise weight vs drivetrain noise.
I just weighed my stock 1.6 FW - It weighs 18 lbs. Dunno how much they can shave off (?)
I was quoted a price of $45.00 to re- surface and lighten the flywheel.
While I was at it, asked how much to do a valve job on my spare 1.6 head - $300.00 I don't know if that is the going rate or what... Includes complete disassembly, cleaning, inspection, 3 angle valve cut etc.
Oppinions ?
