best bang for $$$?

ok before you go off about how i haven't searched. well i haven't. ok well i kind of did but not enough to find my answers. i dont have much time now to search. go too much going on.

i was looking at the eibach 1+2+3 kit. the sport kit plus suspension.
comes with dampers, lowering, and anti. which im sure you know. i found it in 1 min so im sure you guys know all about it.

i was looking at that kit or just getting coilovers.

i know they are in 2 different price categories but do you think coilovers is that much better then the kit? i was looking at stance coils. not sure which i like from them.

i just want to turn going 50. i don't want to spend too much because i want to start on my 240sx build but i wouldn't mind spending on the coils or the kit.

thank you for any help.

hustler 06-05-2011 09:11 PM

I think the best bang for the buck is the Xida because although they are more expensive than most, they make a lot of bang. The jump in smile or fun factor from Tein Flex to my AST5100's is bigger than the jump from stock to the Flex.

falcon 06-05-2011 09:16 PM

If you're looking at actual $ VS performance, my vote goes to SD revalved bilstiens with sleeves and QA1 springs all around. Add some NB tops and you have a pretty badass suspension for under $1000.

tom550 06-05-2011 09:21 PM

im i retarded? i cant find them on google to read up on them.

Well lucky that our time is less valuable than yours.

WTF does that even mean? Making a long sweeping turn on the highway @ 50mph is quite different than wanting to hit an off-camber switchback downhill @ 50mph.

Most people here are very helpful if you put a little effort into your posts.

WTF are you Googling shit for? Use the "search" button in this forum and enter the words "suspension hierarchy" and you will have more information than you will need.

Gotpsi? 06-06-2011 11:50 AM

Lowering kits are compromises for real suspension and any coil over kit that sounds like it makes your car look good like "Stance" is probably only good when the car is not moving. real suspension costs real money. There is a huge thread about this I think is called suspension hierarchy. Search for that.

Also, learn to spell. Your and you're are not the same thing

tom550 06-06-2011 11:56 AM

yea im going to have to take the time to go over that.

im leaning more to putting money in my 240. the money i would spend getting the suspension i would like for the miata could get me at least 1/3 way with my build. my mind keeps jumping around about what to do.

spitefulcheerio 06-06-2011 11:57 AM

miatas > toofordeeznuts

Every wannabe drifter in the world has a 240. The miata is a far better platform than a 240 for drifting, autox and road racing.

ftfy.

There's a reason the 240 is known as the cheater chassis.

y8s 06-06-2011 12:47 PM

drift an e30. so much caster.

SD=stewart dev?

Other option is koni sports+ebay sleeves. The kit springs are ~550lbs, find some 350lb rear springs and you have a complete single adjustable package for ~600.

A Miata sucks for drifting compared to many other cars because it has a low polar moment of inertia. That lower polar moment of inertia makes it better for racing, though.

you guys are forgetting he only wants to be "turning 50" so why would he buy suspension? plus suspension costs "1/3" of 240 build so that means he has $1200 to spend or $9,000 to spend on 240 build, depending on what suspension he/him talk about. we thank yours face for the very best questionising us we.

wow where the hell did all this completely off topic shit come from. is this all this forum does. 2 help and the other 500 jump in and thread jack about useless topics.

who said i want to drift. 240sx is a great car that has so much aftermarket support for it. its probably one of the most used project cars out today. with it having so many cars that you can pull parts off of and bolt onto it as if it were made for the 240 such as the j30 differential, or the z32 brakes. plus theres so much help online for it as well. think of the most random thing you can think of to do to a 240 and most likely its already been done so you can do it but not make the same mistakes. its an amazing car and i would pick it instead of a miata any day. the miata is just what happened to pop up when i needed a car.

also if the miata was a better platform to drift with why do you go to a drift even and 80% of the cars are 240sx. not just in the little events but also the bigger events. and like i said before i dont drift and dont care to watch it also.

Has anyone ever installed a Honda S600 transverse front engine/RWD drivetrain into a 240?

Different setups, huh. I prefer the 24" double-ended dildos myself. Any longer and it gets unwieldy

Why do these idiots ALWAYS assume that just because this is a car enthusiast forum means we can all spell and punctuate like braindead morons? Is car enthusiasm and proper communication skills too much to ask of someone at the same time? Are some people unable to walk and chew gum at the same time?

240 is useless garbage unless you are drifting, I know there is an aftermarket for them but your comparing a niche drifting community to a miata? Miatas are the most raced car in America most spec but that doesn't mean stock, I'd be willing to bet for every 240 part sold there are 4 miata parts sold, unless we count the broken drifting into walls stuff.

When you apologize to the rest of us for being a lazy, self-centered, bonehead, then (and only then) can you begin your path to redemption here. Until then:

Go suck a big fat meat cigar.

18 Years old. The age where parents are no longer legally responsible for their children.

Imagine all the fucked up offspring we could get rid of, it mothers could have "abortions" through the 57th trimester.

"Jack, I brought you into this world, and I can take you out of it!!!"

"Oh shit, I'm sorry mom, I love you and I'll never steal again, I swear!! Please don't abort me, mom!!!"
