Bilstein PSS9 Question
Hello Everyone.
I have been waiting for a set of used billies to pop up to build the budget billie set up, however these just showed up locally for cheap. They do not appear to have the original springs, these are red and I'm waiting on part numbers to check the rates. There does not seem to be a lot of reviews on these except for they use weird rates. Are they more of a daily driver set up? Im in a 2003 with stock black shocks, I will maybe see 2-3 track days a year, the rest is street driving.
- are they a significant upgrade or are they garbage?
- from what I've seen they can't handle high spring rates (max of 400?) so if the red springs are below that, are they good for street/track use?
- any reviews or opinions? For $200 bucks they are extremely tempting, vs $500 plus to do the budget billies.

Do these have adjustment ***** at the tops of the shocks? It doesn't appear so from the pictures, which means they may have been revalved or modified. Which would mean anything relevant to OTS PSS9 may not be relevant? OTS PSS9 came with blue springs and helpers? Also odd spring rates, but you have to take spring rates in context with a huge MCU bump stop on the front shocks, from the size they probably rested on or near them. That bump stop contributes to spring rate, at what rate is anyone's guess.

They are probably the PSS then. Initially I couldn't find much information on these, slowly I found a bit more. From what I saw, they really shouldn't go above #400 if you change out the springs. Some users reported going from a progressive to a regular 7" spring, and just using the collars to lower it slightly. At this point its moot..... guy won't return my inquiries anymore. Thanks for the help though.
