Default Brake Duct Hose Material

I'm looking at the different Brake Duct Hose Material on Summit Racing and the one that interests me the most is the 3" Allstar Performance hose. But I noticed other hoses are reaching near the $90 mark. What differs between the cheap brake duct hoses and the expensive ones? I see the listed materials are different. Is one really better than the other or all they all adequate?

Well, the $90 Mishimoto hose is silicone fiberglass, the cheap Allstar is just rubber. The medium Allstar is double ply rubber. I'd have thought the difference was pretty obvious—silicone fiberglass should have better heat resistance, and better durability.

Thanks for the link, I saw the link for those aluminum inlet flanges somewhere but I couldn't find it.

Flanges are in the same link. Look closely, there is a pic on that page.

If you're Uber cheap you can actually get 3" vynle flex tube from Walmart....... It's the RV ******* hose. Vynle can live at temps in the 200 deg range so if you hard pipe a few inches before the brake rotors it can be a viable alternative at less than 1$ a foot. Get the brown "HD" hose as it's more UV stable and much thicker than the black stuff. Worse case is you're out 10$ and have a template to cut the expensive stuff to exactly the right length.

That seems like an interesting alternative. It seems like the inside is ribbed just like the outside so it wouldn't flow as well but I guess it would work. I'll probably just suck it up and get the silicone stuff so I could install it and forget about it. Thanks everyone for your input.
