Hello,
I am about begin swapping a 6 speed into my 1995 equipped with an automatic transmission. Are the bolts that secure the automatic bell housing to the block the same as those used for 6 speeds? Thanks

If I were you I would just buy a manual transmission Miata and swap the 6 speed into that. It'll be easier in the long run. That way you won't have to worry about swapping the clutch, ppf, ecu, pedals, wiring, hydraulics, etc. I haven't heard anything about the bolts being different, but I don't know for sure.

Well, that is probably the wise thing to do, but I have purchased almost everything needed for the swap. Although I am pretty sure that I can retain the automatic ecu. It's amazing how the small things, such as the fasteners, can be the most aggravating.

I don't know what Morshu is talking about, but it's a common and not terribly difficult swap to do. Although time consuming, the most difficult part is still going to be removing and replacing the transmission. The rest is mostly bolting and unbolting the hydraulics and such.

IRRC the auto trans engine to bell housing bolts are longer than the manual trans ones. They could possibly still work, but be careful with the ones that go into the oil pan since you could easily **** up the pan by bottoming them out and trying to crank em in.

The bolt sizes are generally in the part number. Find a parts cache picture with part numbers. Generally the last few digits are thread pitch and length, in mm.
