Default Damper Adjustments MX-5 Cup Mosport

First of all Mosport is an epic track, and anyone who has a chance to drive it, take it!

The weekend started off good, being quickest in all of the practice sessions. Damper changes were made to the car closer to neutral. The first two days of practice were very hot btw, about 90 degrees and 80 percent humidity. The car had a tendency to be loose on the entry to the corners when the weight was transferred to the front. It didnt matter if I was trailing braking into the corner or just off power. On the exit it had slight understeer from on power to the exit of the corner.

I able to qualify the car on pole for both races.

The first race, track conditions changed drastically. The weather had cooled down 15 degrees from a storm passing through the night before, which cleared out all the humid air and heat. This made my car super loose on entry and exit, since I set the car up to have no understeer on a greasy track. The track was acting pretty much like an ice rink for me. I had stiffened the car up quite a bit and needed to soften it a bit in order for me to have the grip I wanted. I still ended up winning the race, but only just. Mind you, the race was also at 7:15PM, so the whole track was covered in shade. If the track had sun beaming on it with the air temp dropping what it did then id be in good shape. But since the track was covered in shade, my setup didnt work to well.

Race 2, was about the same weather conditions. I made adjustments accordingly and was able to get the car dialed, with just a few turns of some *****. That race, everything didnt really go my way. My car was down on straight line speed and there wasnt really anything I could at the point to pull of the win. I ended up throwing it off trying pass for second. I got into the marbles and that was the end of that.

I would love to share with you what I did over the weekend to cure the handling issue and would be happy to share it within a private message. Im still in the race season and would like to keep my cards somewhat close to my chest. Let me know if you are interested, and I will send a message over explaining what I did.
