front ceramic pads

im looking at pricing out front ceramic pads for my car. i got a monroe's for the rear but does monroe make front ones too? i need want ceramics. even if no, want brands should i look at? i saw on ebay that there are "off" brand ceramic pads bundled with "racecar" rotors but i wouldnt trust them even on my broken vw. (which has ceramics lol) are there any legit, decent pads that do come bundled with decent rotors, thats something i would really look into buying. if no. brand suggestions are welcome. thanks

Most of the evil spirits haven't come out for the night yet but I'm subscribed for the responses... :giggle:

I'll give you props on that, I expect negative feedback/advice by now from people.on here

John,

They are going to be a bit ruthless. Read this thread and anything else you can find about track brakes. There are literally dozens of threads on the topic. https://www.miataturbo.net/race-prep...vs-xp10-71147/

Most of us consider Monroe the cheap strut brand the guys at Midas put on soccer moms' minivans. No serious driver gets off-brand brake parts on ebay. If your goals aren't oriented to the track there are a lot of good street options bite reasonably without a lot of noise and dust. If this is the goal (daily driver), searching on miata.net will be more friendly.

The guys here know more about making miatas go fast than anywhere else on the net but they lack certain social refinements to make newbies feel welcome. Try not to take it personally. ;)

My experience with ceramic brake pads is that they'll make you faster - because fast is the opposite of slow.

But brake pads are supposed to make you "slower".

After a month of waiting to "get used to" NAPAs premium ceramic pads on the front of the car, I was still seriously overshooting stop signs - literally by car lengths of where I intended to stop. On the otherwise stock braking system with standard organic pads in the rear, I could smoothly mash the brakes and the rears would lock up well before the fronts could manage an emergency stop.

Deciding I didn't want to literally DIE - by either blowing a stop sign and getting T-boned by a truck, or loosing the back end on a failed emergency "DEER!" stop and having hoofs come through my drivers side window before plummeting over a bridge, I put the previous used pads back on before ordering R4S pads all around direct from porterfield.

OP - is English your third language, or is it your fourth? Because this shit....

...is downright offensive and disrespectful to anyone reading it.

OP, after realizing my comments in the last post might be inappropriate, I decided instead to simply translate my post so that you could read it better.

Good luck!

I got ceramics on my volkswagen Gti from Ecs tuning for a really good price, after about a week, i noticed that my braking did improve. but the first few stops when they are cold can be a little scary. i do have experience with them, i am just unfamiliar with sorting out the "junk" brands with the good ones. With that said, i still havent found any decent parts/performance parts websites for my miata other than FM. Help with that would be greatly appreciated.

See i totally forgot they also make struts. My car may see the track a few times in its life but its just my street car. The may reason im going to ceramics is not only for the improvement but mostly for the show wheels ill be putting on in the summer. i understand the miata.net would be more towards where i should frequent but keeping up with the 5+ forums im on is already alot plus with how busy my daily life is. The reason i came here first is for my boost build.

For street-driven ceramics, I like the Centric "Posi-Quiets." I run these on a Ford Expedition and an MB 380SL. They work well. Centric makes good OEM-replacement rotors too.

thanks for the help. one thing i should of checked very first was the local non AZ parts stores. the only dumb reason i thought to even post was when i was doing brakes on my vw year or more ago and wanted ceramics, no body carried or even listed front pads for it at the time.... stupid yeah... and after having trouble browsing ebay (just for laughs) i might of assumed the same.. sorry for what could of been a waste of other people time. i need to find a few decent aftermarket parts websites/ webstores for the miata though, any help on that front would be great! might as well include that on here

wannafbody 02-24-2013 08:18 PM

Get EBC reds or yellows

Dude... even ClubProtege doesn't tolerate this level of stupidity, and if i still had the ability to log on to FEOA.net without feeling like i was assaulting my own pride just by reading those threads, i'd probably put you in your place there as well.

Why do you think this is OK HERE, of all places?

Mobius 02-26-2013 12:50 AM

The forum has become politer. Or people aren't paying attention. Or ... apathy has set in. That's my vote.

OP - you could be a just little more self-sufficient and you would be creating far less frustration among the knowledgeable and temporarily patient members of this forum.

The home page of this forum has two things you should familiarize yourself with: the search function and the vendor list.

The English language has two things you should familiarize yourself with: spelling and grammar.

No. We would not like you talking like that. The honest truth is that if you post another barely legible post like the one that started this thread, you may be summarily banned.

But since you seem to be surviving so far in this thread without the massive anaal enlargement I was expecting, I'll contribute. I thought that the OEM pads were ceramic. Anyone?

Edit: huh, got a word filtered :p
