Great tire deal for those running 16's.
Spotted a hell of a deal on tires-easy.com . Thought for guys running 16" wheels this could be a great buy on a pretty good mid pack performance tire. 215-40-16 Kumho SPT's for $39 + shipping. Shipping varies a lot though. It's a discontinued size and looks like they are blowing them out. I've run these in 205/50/15 and they were a pretty good all around summer tire. Good in wet too.

Ordered...now just need wheels.
I needed tires anyways...wanted to upgrade to 15"...but will just live with the bigger rollers. At that price I can afford the decent tires and some used wheels off CL. |
Great to know someone can use them. Shipping to the NW was high or I'd have bought them and looked for wheels too.

Came out cheaper shipped than bottom of the line 14" tires I can get at local Discount Tire.
Thanks for the pointer. I'm taking a gamble on finding and running the bigger wheels, but may pay off. I just hope to find a cheap lightweight set locally with a little bit of curb rash, and hope that I don't hate them installed. Tires are exactly what I was looking for though. I had actually read that review a while back...and a very similar one in a car mag. |
damn I would like to replace my RIPKEN RAPTORZ, but alas I has no moniessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
|
these are a great deal, i wish they would fit under my rear fenders :(

I've heard tirea-easy can be a PITA to deal with since they are more like a middle-company who gets deals from other places. Had a friend order tires from them only for an "customer service operator" call up and say the tires are out of stock but he could upgrade for $xxx dollars more to another tire and when he tried to cancel the order they got all pissy. Go read some reviews about them, most are bad.

No doubt they aren't a top notch company like tire rack. Wouldn't have recommended them but this was a hell of a deal and I knew people could use them. If people order them and the tires show up great, good deal.
If things turn hinky I'm sorry, Dopple has warned you. |
i got my tires the other day. great deal!

Glad you guys could take advantage of this! Saw the deal and knew some people could likely use em. Wish I had some 16" wheels laying around. Also relieved to know there were no problems getting them. I've never dealt with tires-easy before and dopples report worried me. |
Just got mine today.
GREAT lookin tire...and huge (wide). Large water channels...should live up to reviews. Can't wait to get them mounted on the OEM 16x6.5" 5 spokes I picked up cheap. |

--Ferdi i have 205 45's on there with the miata wheels and there is just enough clearance at the strut and fender for them to not rub. with a 215 i'd probably have to roll my fender lips and run a small wheel spacer. such a great deal though... i could run a pair up front with 205 45's in the back... |
I am SOO tempted by this. But I already have a set of tires! If anyone needs a set of wheels for this though, I have some 16x7.5 Kosei K1's for sale with out tires.

every rolled fender ive ever seen always starts to rust... and the spot that i'd need to roll is the exact spot where escorts first begin to rust anyway. i dont want to give it any ideas if you know what i mean! ever tried to find a rust free escort GT in new england??
|
Ewww.. Missed the New England thing. Rust sucks. I'm always shocked when I see underbody pics people post here at all the corrosion you get in the NE. Sea air and salted roads = death to metal.
