Woohoo Just ordered mine this morning. It's no 225/40 but it's a hell of alot cheaper.

Johnmatt,
As mentioned earlier the SPT does run on the wide side of 215. Did you get them yet? |
No they haven't come in yet. They are due in today though so I'm pretty much just waiting on the UPS man. I'll get some pics comparing them to the 205/40/15 and 205/40/16 that I have mounted

I got mine mounted while at Discount putting new tires on wife's truck the other day:
Attachment 202333 Look pretty damn good in person. The 215 tire isn't overly wide for the OEM wheel...which surprised me. Will put them on the car today if I get off in time to cut the yard first. |
Is that a 7" wheel? If so they'll fit great on my 8" Sportmaxx
|
the oem 16's are 6.5" IIRC
|
Oh ok. It should still fit alot better than those 205/40s that I had. I hate that strecthed BS
|
Nope, 6.5"
I really wanted a 7" wheel, but CL sucks, and bought these off an honest forum member. 7" should put the sidewall right at vertical. Mine is tucked in just a bit. Will get better pics tonight if I can. I don't think 8" would be stretched, and would give a more predictable contact patch. I can't afford anything that isn't 0 offset in that size though. |
Yeah I hear ya on the size choices. It sucks having a honda bolt pattern. Hopefully I'll get mine mounted monday so I will get pics then

Good pics of the sidewall on 6.5" wheel for ya:

Ewww.. Missed the New England thing. Rust sucks. I'm always shocked when I see underbody pics people post here at all the corrosion you get in the NE. Sea air and salted roads = death to metal.

On car:
Attachment 202292 Attachment 202293 Attachment 202294 I didn't push them at all on the way in this morning since it was foggy and tires were new...but they felt much more confident. Quicker turn in, little bouncier, little more line-tracking...but lots more traction in lower gear acceleration. Not even the slightest hint of oversteer when I did power out of some medium speed sweepers. Wheels look great. I love the OEM look, and the silver compliments a black car with chrome. I don't know what I'm going to do with my graphite paint now. No rubbing at all with the 215s....and I'm as low as I'll ever go. |
They also have v710's for a 130bux ca. Wow.
|
Update:
These tires are absolutely amazing when pushed hard. Very predictable breakaway, and it's nice having real traction in second gear. They also faired very well in our little "snowstorm" today. Was wet and cold, but car was very predictable. Rolled into throttle a little early in a few corners and it came out gradually despite 36* weather. |
Just put these on a 2000 Subaru 2.5RS. Thank you very much for posting this up! :)
|
Yeah, pretty good deal, thanks for the info.
|
Glad some people could use these. Wish I had some 16's to put a set on myself.
|
I went ahead and got a set- but the price was up to $40 each and they jacked it again- now $64 each. :vash: Though still a great deal.
|
Crazy. I figured they would be out of them by now. I still haven't mounted mine yet. I'm slackin somethin fierce
|
Stock level shows 29. If you search for the tires under "All Tires" -> "Size" it will show the inventory.
Shoulda pulled the trigger on these when they were first posted. Frank |
