You cannot set caster and leave camber and toe at the same settings. When you change one, you change the others. So to get 2* camber and 0 toe at my ride height (12.5" although my fenders are slightly rolled, so 12" maybe) I get just under 4* caster.

I just had my car aligned and corner balanced a week ago. I was pleasantly surprised that the corner weights came out perfect the first time around with equal left and right ride heights and me in the driver's seat. This is in a 2200 lb NB with my 200 lb butt in the driver's seat. According to him, that's pretty typical of the Miatas (not sure if he meant all or just the NB) -- set the ride heights with the driver in the car and the corner balance will be very, very close.

Good to know if you're looking to save a few bux by skipping the corner balancing, at least in the initial stages of dialing in the car.

I just got my car realigned last week.

Old spec:
Camber: 2.2F 2.0R
Caster: 3.75F
Toe: 0F, 0R

New spec:
Camber: 2.7F 2.2R
Caster: 3.5F
Toe: 0F, 0R

Looking for a little more grip now that I don't have to worry as much about highway tire wear. I'm going to pick up a tire pyrometer and see how the tires like this setup, and go from there.

@Sav: Doesnt that rear camber sacrifice rear traction out of corners too much? Do report back.

How do you like the new alignment of did you change it again in the mean time?

I am going to add rear toe in as hard braking from 150+mph to 40 is making the rear unstable (XP12 all around w/ABS)

Is everyone going with 1/2" rake? It seems that most spec miata guys are doing zero rake. Do we want a little rake because we are transferring more weight due to power?
