There were some differences with the JDM BP4w and BPZ3.
But yah, most likely its not a JDM engine at all, or if it is someone wasted a bunch of money importing an engine they could have gotten here.
we checked vin, so its a true JDM, but there were a ton of them for sale when i was looking for a 1.8 and they all seemed cleaner than the USDM motors, so thats what i ordered, wasnt much difference in price either.

I'd rethink the 20w50, I regularly run 5w20 on the same turbo, no issues yet (kow). I'm afraid 20w50 would do more harm than good. There was a good article in GRM recently about this, can't remember which issue though...

You have bigger fish to fry though. FWIW, my Greddy runs 2.5" piping and a 25mm front sway, basically my hotside intercooler pipe is being hugged by the lower coolant hose and the sway.

Ran 10W30 cheapo brand oil on a 16G and spun the crap out of it with no issues at all. It has 0 shaft play. They design them to work on commonly used oils. Just use whatever is best for the engine and you will be fine.
