Making stb's
I am going to be welding up a 3 point front and rear stb and am looking for some input. I am thinking about using some 1" id tubing but have not decided on what gauge to use. Doing to be based off these designs:
front

rear

Input on design and material is greatly appreciated!

I really question if it's worth the effort.
I have the Carbing 3 point bar and can flex it by hand with relative ease. Surely once all the points are tied into the car it will be stiffer but I find it difficult to believe it has a function beyond looking purposeful and well crafted.
I think if one was really concerned with stiffening the front end they would weld in a tubular structure directly to the unibody rails and have a bolt in cross bar for maintenance/engine removal. At thatg point you might as well clip the front and tie a cage into a tubular snout.

I am hoping for good results from the fabbing and installing of front and rear stb's. Before I installed edfc and turbo I had front and rear stb's and at autox I felt the car was a bit more predictable, especially when making the rear end step out. After I took the rear stb out (and that was the only thing I changed) I noted a loss of predictability and stability. Not so much with the front but I also installed frog arms the same time I took out the fstb.
I have the time and resourced to fab these up and I figure if there is no appreciable change in rigidity/response/predictability/tightness I could sell them for what it cost to make them.

Doing some more reading, thinking, and observing I am going to do a few tests to see how much flex there is/is not in the front end. I'll post pics of my methods and my findings.
