Default Mazdaspeed inner CV on regular outer axle

Here's my background: I have a 2005 mazdaspeed rearend with a broken driver side arm. I know I can get another arm from treasure coast miata. The bad part of this is I only have the inner stub of one of the cv shafts. Now, I know the inner stub is the only part that is different from the regular one piece axles. I am wondering if I can take apart the inner CV and put the larger mazdaspeed stub on the outer section? Has anybody tried this? The reason I am trying to do this is I can't find anybody that has a Mazdaspeed cv shaft they are willing to sell except for one on eBay.

Hmm I think the inner CV on the mazdaspeed axles is a tripod unit and on the regular axles it is a ball type.

The inner is definitely a tripod type looking at the one I have. If the regular one is in fact a ball type, I'm hosed.

No that won't work, the parts are all different.

What does the s2000 use? Seems these parts are readily available, and cheap.

Scratch that, the s2000 cv joint is tripod type as well.
