Default Is my new throw out bearing ok?

Hey hey.

Waiting on a flywheel frictiom diac but getting ready to mate my gearbox and engine. Have a new clutch kit, supermiata sport, organic faced. Is an NTN TOB, so should be good ****.

Was about to mount the TOB on the arm and I noticed the internal guide sleeve is not concentric.

It appears the plastic guide sleeve is almost touching the inner race on one side, eyeballing <1mm and on the other side looks to be ~3mm

I am assuming this is what holds the bearing perpendicular to the fingers and if this guide tube is crooked, it may not press on the fingers evenly?

Or am I overthinking this and send it?

thoughts appreciated

Thanks!

Ok, jammed some verniers though the release arm hole on the housing. From the shaft to the outside of the race one way is 10.5mm, the other way is 12.6, so expect the bearing will not be centred on the PP fingers.

Ok, for any other idiot that notices this, FYI this is a design feature not a bug.

Self aligning bearing. Will pull to centre when you load it up with the pressure plate, will pull flat and stay aligned

so yeah, nothing to see here, jsut a monkey with a wrench.

carry on.

given for followup. Yep, checked several other bearings and they all look the same.
