Default Na tophats with megan coilovers?

Hello,

I have a 1996 miata with Megan coilover, the driver rear has recently started knocking and it's driving me crazy. It's the pillow ball top mount, a terrible design. So I called Megan and she said that the red colored coilovers have been discontinued. But I could buy some of their new blue color top hats that are steel and rubber like stock. She wanted 79$ each plus shipping so I picked up 2 top hats on eBay for 20$. So can they be used on the Megan?

thanks.

If their solution is to provide stock style tophats, then I don't see why not.
The better solution would be to sell them and buy a better set of shocks.

I don't know if it's stock style, but it's no longer with a pillow ball mount. I know the factory top hat has a notch in it that would have to be ground away to fit the cylindrical shock shaft into it. I will post pictures when they arrive later today.

yes ideally I'd love to get rid of these coilover and get xidas but I don't really have spare 2k right now.

I understand. Check out the eBay coilover thread for a good budget solution.
Also, make an intro thread so we know more about you.
Post pictures of your car and any cats you may have.
