Default rear axles?

I've done some searching and haven't been able to find out.

I currently have a full 97 rear diff set-up in my car, but it's open. I've found a 95 LSD rear diff, but everything I've found shows the axles to split in 95. this one is out of a early VIN car, does anyone know if the 97 axles will work with it for sure?

I bought a 3.90 planning on swapping to it, but I just don't think the car has enough tq to use it. anyone swapped to 3.90 and felt that life couldn't be any better?

I know that any 1.8 NA axle will work. I have the early vin 95, and broke many axles, and put later model axles in it. It looks different, but it works. The early axles are a 2 piece unit so that you do not have to undo the spindles from the control arms. The later axles are either stronger or cheaper to make, hence the change.

so the 94 / early 95 cars had a 2 piece axle like the 1.6's? just swap the housing and I'm good to go?

I found the title and post funny as hell.

Rear diff? Rear axles? As opposed to the miata FRONT diff and FRONT axles??

LOL just giving you a hard time

I'm a little more concerned about the transfer case.

The 90-(~)'95 cars had split axles. The ones used on '94-'95 are not the same as on '90-'93. Apart from being split in two, they are the same as the later axles.

There is an exact copy of that in Beamont, TX with Skyjacker suspension and I've ridden in it and it was quite entertaining.

can I pop the stubs out of the 95 housing and use my 97 axles or do I just need to swap the carriers? I don't have the 2 piece 1.8 axles.
