i made a rear mounted radiator setup for our shop's honda crx. it has a b18 swap with a turbo kit i put together. even using the tightest fitting tubular manifold (fits like a cast) the turbo intrudes into the area for the radiator. so what everybody does is put the later model civic 1/2 size radiators. but even then they have to be mounted cocked to one side. which is fine for street/drag racing, but not so good for track use.

so i purchased some metal tubing and raditor hoses and ran the lines along the pass. side door sill. i mounted the radiator at a forward angle in the hatch. cut an opening in the floor, and then used thin alum. sheet to make an air box if you will that encloses not only the radiator but also connects the opening in the floor to the rad. core on the bottom and on the top or back side of the radiator (fan is mounted on the back pulling air through) there are panels channeling the air to the small vertical window that crx's have on the hatch to evacuate the hot air. (very handy)

1. no additional pump is needed. the factory pump pushes the water without a problem.

2. airflow under the car is not a big deal because the fan or fans are pulling the air through.

3. make sure the system is sealed from the pass. compartment. i used a plastic tanked (19yr. old) radiator for mock up and to make sure it would work before buying an alum. rad. well, luckily i had the lid closed because one night after doing some tuning, i was cruising back on the highway when the top radiator tank exploded. it got steamy in the car but i didn't get burned.

4. it runs too cool with the extra water capacity and full size radiator. previously i had the the fan turn on with ign., but with the rear mount setup it wouldn't get up to temp. so i had to hook it up to the original fan switch.

5. i don't see why a miata would need anything like this.

some of you guys are fuktarded. are you really making fun of a top secret built car? i don't know about those bulletproof guys (us importer), but any top secret products or any top secret/smokey nagata built car is way beyond a show car.
top secret is a company started by a former jgtc racing engineer. anything he builds is of the highest quality materials and engineering.

just a couple vids. this dutch douche is obviously not the best driver, but he had the best car at the track that day.

I am very well aware that whatever TopSecret builds is above and beyond in quality and function>form. But they build cars for a reason. About the only reason I could see doign this on a Miata is for some ultimate stupid crazy time-attack car....with a V8 and twin turbos....where you'd need a TON of airflow to a intercooler and a large capacity cooling system. In that case, it would make most sense to bring air in from the top and vent it out the back via the license plate area.

Dude, you just like to pick fights or something...

I don't care who the hell they are, if I look at a car and see something stupid I want to make fun of I'm going to. My assessment of it. You may not like it, but it doesn't make me fuktarded.

Just like if I put AGXs on my car and they ride like **** for the kind of driving I do I can relate that without someone telling me I'm full of **** and they're god's gift to everyone whose seen a racetrack.

Share your opinion, don't discount others just for the sake of it.

1. That clear window over the radiator serves absolutely no purpose.

EDIT: May have a purpose, that's actually from their V12 (wtf) Supra, and looks like it draws air in. My bad.

2. My day job is reviewing drawings from our chinese vendors, and I'll take every opportunity to laugh at Engrish I can get.

3. The last thing I quoted is some absolutely horrid writing, and even you can't argue with that.

I used to think you were cool, but this is the second time you've spit in my direction.

Yeah, considering I was the only one picking on them I did think you were talking to me. Oh well, I'm probably too stressed from schoolwork.

Nevermind...

Did anyone ever go anywhere with this?

Did anyone ever verify if the stock water pump could make the water move all the way to the trunk and back without the addition of an inline aux pump?

And for what its worth, YES I am considering a rear mount radiator for my miata.

Thanks

My car has a heat exchanger mounted under the trunk. The tank for my water/air intercooler is currently mounted under the trunk and the Air exchanger under that. Then two more exchangers, one in each fog light bucket.

I don't particularly like the placement, but can't argue with the results!
