Shot bearings in TorSen

Is it a bitch to replace the bearings in a TorSen? Specifically the pinion bearings?

I'm guessing if I don't have a dial indicator etc I should just send it off to be done?

Yes, if you don't have the tools to set up a rear end (dial indicator is a requirement), you probably shouldn't do it.
