Testing wheel width vs. tire width
On my other forum, we have a thread titled "You might be a bitch *****...." and we put in quotes, and examples of what would make a bitch ***** and etc.
I would say getting this butthurt clearly qualifies.

"which wheel a certain tire was widest?"
Are you asking how to make a tire appear wider? Wider wheels would be the answer but that seems too obvious to be what you are asking.
Carefully rephrase your question please.

many members on here run similar setups like the one linked. it gon be the widist width with the narrowest narrow wheel. PRobably the most underrated and uncommon nowadays

Just spend a few minutes looking at what you wrote and see if makes sense before hitting that submit button. Your computer has at least one program that will spell check for you.

That's what i was asking. Ergo... unless i'm completely hallucinating here, i could have sworn you did some testing on the 225/45-15 RS3 specifically, arriving at the point where the 15x9 was the ideal wheel to use with said tire.
Anyways, the time has passed and it doesn't really matter any more. A quoted post of yours was posted that is good enough at this moment.
Furthermore: The question posed made sense and was really the exact thing i just posted. Unfortunately, when you truncate it, it doesn't make near the sense as the original posting.

Thanks for the help.
In defense of the OP, I would love to see results to some actual testing. I know everyone on the site says you want the widest wheel possible, but numbers would be awesome. I can't help but feel like 205/225's on a 9 inch wheel are getting terribly close to stretched, stanced, CR status. It's just tough to accept that as the ideal setup.
What blows my mind is that Andrew and Emilio have basically repeat this information in just about every thread we've ever had, ever, about wheel/tire sizing. Yet you still get people that don't "know" and those that are so far away from understanding this ridiculously simple concept its staggering.
And I won't even start on the noobs/trolls in here lulz

Goodwin is a very active autocrosser. He knows as well as anyone that a radial wants wide wheels. The recommendation you quote is likely in regards to ride quality, stering effort and economy. Maybe ping him for clarification.

So, i guess we're down to a simple yes or no question: Is the post that DK quoted of yours earlier the extent of write-ups on the subject that you have made?

I was just looking for the write-up because a noob didn't believe me when i said the 225/45-15 was best on a 9".This thread is a ******* train wreck.
