And less noise, and easier shifting, and on and on. There are really no negatives to retaining the stock flywheel, insofar as I am aware.
Lighter discs allow faster up or down shifting. Clutch disengaged, a heavier disc will increase the time it takes for the input shaft to decelerate to allow and upshift. The syncros are the "brakes" for the input shaft on upshifts, working against all the rotational inertia, the disc of which the largest single contributor. One of the primary reasons I try to implement the 200mm B6 assembly whenever possible. Most of my cars use a rigid organic disc as they are invariably the lightest. Our current supplier's drive hub is to large for a rigid organic so I use a rigid metallic puck disc now.
