Default Toyo R888 rebate

Just stumbled across this today. Seems to be aimed at the Spec Miata crowd.

Get $150 back on a set of four 205/50-15 R888s. Any authorized dealer, any price paid.

Ends tomorrow.

They're rebated because they are **** tires and they're left holding the bag after most of the SM sanctioning bodies in the nation switched back to RA-1s next year. I wouldn't buy a set of R888s even if they were $150 off - I'd rather shell out the bucks and get an NT-01 which will last longer and be better.

Having read the above and reflecting to last year of driving: I'd get another set of R888s in 225/45R15 in a heartbeat. Then again, we can't get RA-1 around here.

Anyone who buys these has not driven on glorious NT-01s and testosterone deficient.

They have plenty of 205s, though.

Depends on your region. SFR SCCA is allowing them for some of the beginning races of the season so people don't have to throw out "good" tires.

R888s aren't any slower than RA-1s, but the conditions have to be right, and they wear shitty, and they don't last as long. R888s like cold, and can be overheated very easily.
