No, they welcome track days man. A dude that lives down the street from me tracks his Z4 over at Sebring, and he works for the local BMW dealership, finance department. He and his 2009 M3 buddy went down there right before xmas. They know their **** is going to be on the track and they build them that way. Same with Porsche.

That being said, man I would have to think hard about a 135i. The 335i isnt much more cost wise, and you get a bigger car with more room. All the registered times that I have seen for both cars are almost dead even. You would think the 135i would be considerably faster and more nimble, but it isn't. Check them both out.

As for the Miata, get a 6spd and be done with it. That is where I am heading when mine finally goes boom.

My goal- be able to do track days without fear of messing up my daily driver 06 WRX.

Solution- '94 Miata project car.

If I take the Miata to Dunnville and it dies, I'll have it towed home. Not a big deal.

Relax, dude.

My dream involves drinking the blood of ****-talkers at the track in Tulsa. When I blow it up there, I have to pay one-thousand dollars to get it towed home, probably miss work on monday, lose my job, then by that time it will be time for the 2012 Mayan Apocalypse. Who knew my car was the catalyst for the end of Earth?

here's your solution:

quaife gear kit group buy on flyin miata's new group buy page. all you need are 9 more ballers.

Depending on my six speed for autocross experiment we may only need 8 more.

I am thinking of putting in a 6 speed and using 2nd and 3rd instead of 1st and 2nd.

just adapt the RX7 trans and buy the Ikeya sequential shifter, or if you want to pay $5455.32 for the PPG Miata dog gears they can handle 400 HP

I have been through 2 tranny's and about to blow up my 3rd. I just keep buying 5-speeds for like $300 and pop and say screw it. I can't afford to buy a $2000 gear set. I would buy a 6speed but would need to get a 3.63 or wheatever the rear end close to that would be, but once again $$$. and with 270whp and 250ft. lbs I know I am gonna break plenty more.

anyone found a way to make a FC tranny fit? or a gearset from a FC fit in our tranny

I thought I had heard of someone swapping gears once, may have been a myth though. (possibly taking the 5th out of the rx7 and putting it in the miata was what it was)

Hustler, would you still get the satisfaction of drinking the blood of ****-talkers in a 135? I thought the whole purpose of you doing this was to beat guys that have cars that cost 10x your miata and seeing their expression afterwards.

so I drove my car today, a lot. I was a bit freaked out, but I guess its more manageable than I thought. I just need more time. This car is way too much fun to dump off. It needs more boost though.

Its kind of cool to see a whole slew of miatas and notice that yours really is worked pretty far, and it would be an injustice to not continue the quest of domination and pilaging...but 10psi is starting to feel slow in 5th.

10psi is ***** ****. My boost control sucks so I'm running 11psi (today). I just ran even with a brand new Mustang GT from 20 to 100 and it pissed me off.

crank that bitch up to 18psi and start really having fun in it. if the 5 speed blows get a 6..if you really want peace of mind get ppg or quaife. any way you look at it a 135 is going to cost a shitload more and will lose the the whole purpose of you going to the track: your car will be almost as expensive as the **** talking douchebags that you like to whoop on.

**** you hustler, I want your car

I went to a gay meet today and wel all drove to begi...then noticed that of all the cars they had in front of the shop, only the HE-X car has more bullshit in it than mine, lol.

I pulled on a shelby GT (GT w/ intake, exhaust, chip) last week, hard...at only 10psi, lol.

Things worked out with BEGi and i scored a scooper that I can adjust...so I can make a huge splitter and mount for my oil cooler, to keep it a sleeper and still crush *************. Now I just need Emilio to sell me the bronze 15x9's, and to get my special deal rolling for suspension. Oh, I also need to buy a gopro and a digicam...off to the pawn shops.

“There are known knowns. 5 spd tranny's aren't quite strong enough for 200+hp. There are things we know that we know. 6 spd trannys can take just about any abuse. There are known unknowns. When, or if, Hustler's 5 spd transmission will implode. That is to say, there are things that we now know we don’t know. Why Hustler spent 3 years and $10,000+ planning and building a car but didn't pick up a 6 spd transmission. But there are also unknown unknowns. Will Hustler's paranoia over breaking down keep him from enjoying the car. There are things we do not know we don’t know.”-Rumsfeld

Good to hear you are driving it, HARD, and enjoying it! Every Miata needs boost! If it already has boost it needs more!

his 10 PSI your 10 PSI. Plus he's breaking in a new motor, hence the conservative timing map, low boost, etc.

i probably need medication.

I'm driving it a lot right now, but not "HARD." I want to get it on the track...the only thing left is the oil cooler/scooper/splitter and we're ready to rape and spit. I want to put enough air into this radiator that I don't need the fans.
