Oh wow... I didn't imagine it being that much of a difference. O_o But that is true about regaining some balance with the V8 up-front though.

Yeah, extra 30 for the diff, 10 for the beefier axles, 10 for the mount, probably 50 more is pretty accurate.

You can shave that quite a bit going away from the iron 8.8 as ZX mentioned above.

Another benefit of the aluminum housing over the iron housing would be better cooling. Aluminum conducts heat much better than cast iron and from what I have read differential overheating can be a problem with a track car.
