Default V8R control arms and bushings questions

Dang, I typed this out once already and it disappeared!

I’m building an LS powered Exocet and will be using the V8R control arms. I know that full poly is not recommmended due to binding, but being that will be a street only car, I don’t think I need to go to full spherical either. I think my best bet is a combination of spherical where required and poly in the remaining places.

My questions are:

1. Which places in the Miata suspension have binding issues? I seem to remember the rear upper arm being one of the major ones.

2. On the rear upper, is the issue at the subframe bushings, or at the upper spindle bushing? I see that Sadfab offers a spherical upper spindle bushing. Would either the spherical control arm or the spindle bearing eliminate this bind? Which would be better?

3. I thought I read somewhere that V8R uses proprietary poly bushings in their arms. Does the bronze bearing retrofit still fit V8R poly bushings?

4. Do the V8R arms come with grease zerks? If not, has anyone added them?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

My guess would be that asking V8 Roadsters these questions directly would get you better answers.

FWIW I have v8r spherical bearings for my upper arms on the front and rear of my NA. My NA is a street miata and I drive it to and from MATG annually and I noticed 0 increase in NVH because of the bearings. I'd just opt for sphericals. Especially if it is on an exocet. From my memory, the binding is when you use a harder material such as delrin for the lower control arms. On one of the spots on the lower control arm you want some compliance.

I’ve considered that as well. How many miles are on yours, and how well have they held up as far as the joints developing any play?

I bought mine second-hand from a forum member. I have about 10k miles that I have personally put on them and that's been over the last few years. I have no issues so far and they have no play that I have noticed. I last poked around into my suspension a few months ago.

That’s good to hear. Worst case, they are easily replaceable. I know rubber covers are available for those style joints as well.

I am not too knowledgeable on the rubber covers but if you come across some that are plug n play with their arms i'd be interested in knowing that info.

I believe these would probably fit just fine. They’re pretty universal:
