For those with Toyo T1R's
Whats your experience with them in the rain. Its raining here now and it will be all day tomorrow too. I had the 6UL's fitted with T1R's and I'm just curious as to how they do in the rain. I'm not looking to race anyone in the wet, just wondering if they are complete **** or decent enough that I don't have to worry.
Thanks

Cool, good to hear. Just getting back into the car after close to 2 years has me nervous about everything. I changed so many things at once I feel like everything is different. The tires had me worried, I'm glad to hear they are good in the rain.
I still might go to a parking lot and see just how "much" makes them start slipping.

i have 215/45/15 T1Rs on my 15x8 6uls. they are incredibly much better in the wet than my all seasons.
MicaCeli-holy crap those R1Rs are great in the rain! do you know how they compare to the Hankook RS3? Where and when was that autox?

Autocrossers Inc event at FedEx field. One of the first one's this year. The tires were full tread at the time as they should be for wet. As the tread wore they were less grippy in the rain but at full to half tread they were just unreal, it felt like driving in the dry.
I am going to run the 225 Hankooks next year shaved I think as they did very well in the comparo's. 205 R1R's for the rain and maybe some other tire at the same time.

I am FedEx for all the events usualy. AI and SCCA. I might be going to some of the PA events since I'm so close like Hershey and such.
Yes CDC (Capital Driving Club) Runs some Frederick Events. The are small and have no classes. So I run an STS prepped 100hp MR2 against 500hp Cobras on 305 Hoosiers But it's fun and close to me.

swimmin: we've got 2 autoxes this weekend at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick. I'm an organizer there and will have my turbo Miata w/ R1Rs (225/45/15) there. Thanks mica celi for recommending them. They're a good street tire. Rain traction is pretty darn good...but I have problems when I tip into boost during heavy rain. Dunno if there's a better tire out there for those conditions.

It's pretty laidback compared to SCCA/AI events. We typically have smaller lots, but tend to do 35-50 second courses. We offer 6 runs (3 a.m./3 p.m.) broken up into 3-4 heats that run morning and afternoon. IF you only want to do morning (or afternoon) only, we'll give 4 runs in that heat.
I also tend to work the grill so you can easily find me.
