Zerk fitting gone wrong
 

I was finishing the install of my bushings/ control arms. I followed 949's install pics and did my best to check for clearances. Apparently I'm dumb. The front lower inboard bushings zerk hits the sub frame. Dunno if I miss measured or just been to distracted.
Question is- Do I pull it all apart and re drill/tap, might not have enough material though? Or grind the sub frame a hair where it touches and make it clear? It's only the driver side that touches, but the pass side one is REALLY close. Oddly only these two front lower rear ones are funky. Everything else is fine......so far.

I'm thinking more toward grinding the spot it touches. Looking for suggestions. Will also accept :makeout:

Your pic is busted. I goofed my front right one, it just hits the sub at full extension. I was too lazy to redo it.

I'd grind the subframe a hair. Just make sure everything ends up round and smooth to avoid stress risers.

You could also pull the zerk and screw in a short plug. Swap when you want to grease.

Pulling it out and temp plugging it seems like a possibility.

It just nicks the housing around it. With the bolt in it will turn as long as it's loose, but if the alainment is set just right it will hit. Almost didn't notice it. It was only when I put the bolts nut on and tried to push up the A arm to bolt the lower shock bolt. I felt it catch just a bit.

I did mine in the top of the arm. There is mucho space.

I fucked the rear upper arms though. Same thing. I just redrilled the other side and bunged the holes. Works a charm.
