I made a quick revision to our webstore this afternoon and added our new M8x1.25 Garrett/MSM Inconel stud kit. At $99, it's the least expensive Inconel option on the market, and it still includes the proper Resbond locking compound that is so critical to making our system work! If you are using an FM manifold or a factory MSM turbo, this is the stud kit for you.

We also have an EFR-specific stud with shorter lengths specifically designed to fit the EFR6258/6758/7163 turbochargers used in our turbocharger kits.

Do you offer any of this in the form of a downpipe kit (that is to say, 5 studs instead of 4?).

 

Before I go yanking the turbo off today, does anyone run the EFR hardware kit with a non TSE manifold? Mine is an Artech top mount. Mine is a long runner kind so I don't foresee an issue but just erring towards caution. I see the TSE manifold has little cutouts behind the flange to allow the studs to thread in but my runners don't make the turn that early.

 

Ok so we installed the kit. Studs were of perfect length, but I did run into an issue that I don't think many others will. My EFR is an old sand cast unit, not the nicer investment cast one. As a result, the housing is really rough and not flat. We ended up having to trim all 3 of the teardrops to allow them to lay flat, because we couldn't get the clips on any other way. Doesn't look terribly pretty, but it will work.

Thumbs up for making a nice kit, I know you said you experimented with many housings to get the stud lengths right, but there's not much that can be done for those of us with sand cast turbos. Either the teardrops need to be trimmed to fit, or you need to grind your housing. I'll post a photo, but the finish on my EFR is pretty terrible as far as smoothness, has big burrs all over it.

Track day will tell if they hold. I imagine everything will stay together

 

Hi Andrew, I can’t quite make out on the website which Inconel kit to order. I am using a gen II GTX2867R 0.86ar turbo, on a track car and would like a kit for:
(A) the turbo/manifold flange (4 bolts) – is that the M8 x 1.25, or the M10 x 1.5 kit?
(B) the turbo exit to dump pipe flange (5 bolts) – I am assuming I need to buy 2 kits to cover the 5 holes – but which kit?

Could you point me to the correct items please? Many thanks.

I am using one of Nitro Dann’s “Twistmount” dump pipes, the flange on that is 12mm thick ( or 0.477” in in Yank language, if that helps at all.
