Default 15x7.5 vs 8 - 6UL Question

Is there any reason to go 15x7.5, over 15x8?

15x8 and 7.5 can both take 205/50s, and there's a huge all season tire selection for them in that size.

I can't see any reason to choose the 7.5, over the 8.

7.5 weight/offset: 11.4 lbs / +42
8.0 weight/offset: 12.4 lbs / +36

Is there something I'm overlooking?

I know that, but I'm wondering what reasons are there to choose a 6UL 7.5 over 8, if any?

I don't want 9" b/c there are no all season tires in 225.

Does there need to be a reason to get the 7.5? Should make your decision nice and easy. Get the 8.

The 7.5 should be easier to fit and is legal for the SCCA STS class. Unless you are very low, or autocrossing in STS, I'd get the 15x8.
