225/45/15 fronts 225/50/15 rears. Who has them and why?
I'll be in the market for some new treads soon. I'm running 205/50/15 RE-11's now on some 6UL 15X7.5
I was looking at the RS3's in a 225/45/15 and the BFG Rivals in the same size. I've notice a select few people running the 225/45/15 in the front and the 225/50-15 in the rear. My question is why? What is the benefit?
Thanks.

It didn't really make any sense to me other than another way to extend the gearing ratio, and may be a touch wider because of the manufacturing process (yes I know it's still a 225 width tire).
