245 's for hot weather roadcourse 2019 Maxxis VR-1 / Hankook R-S4/ Rival 1.5 ??
My heavy NB2 horsepower has taken a good jump in the last few months, and my 225 R-S4's are on their last leg. Time to go to 245's
How are the hot weather Roadcourse times on the Maxxis Victra VR-1 vs the Hankook R-S4?
Not interested in autocross or short cool weather roadcourse tires that melt after 3 summertime laps at Sebring like my original Rivals? Have not ran the newer 245 Rival S 1.5
Sebring was not nice to my original set of Rivals. Something about stupid hot Sebring concrete summertime and bumps?
Had good luck with R-S4's in 225, but they almost wear "too well" and looking for a good bit more grip without going to my TT Hoosiers.
Sometimes it nice to drive to the track and not worry about rain. Not wanting a rain tire just something faster than R-S4 's that aren't in stock right now anyway.
On that note when is the 245 VR-1 coming out in the S2 compound?

RS4 is still alive, just having the standard supply game because, you know,

I'm curious for the same information on longevity. But compared between a 245 track tire like Toyo RR's, RC-1's and a 245 street tire like RS 1.5 and RS4. I am looking for a Sebring tire for my 10s as well..I'm not fast..so I'm more interested in life and cycles for my really expensive parade laps.

Yep - I've have cruising around those topics. This sounds crazy saying out loud.. but It's just not obvious when comparing race vrs street tire. Blows my mind how a "Street" tire can be on par ( or close enough with my skill ) with a "Race" tire like RC-1 or TRR

If SCCA suddenly decided to allow 100TW in Street class autocross, you'd see this hypothetical new tech 100TW. In any case, this is why the super200's kick all the 100's *** in every performance metric, including cost.

A lot more money and marketing being poured into the new generation of state of the art 200 TW tires than any 100TW. 100 is stagnant market, dominated by 15-20 year old deigns and technology. Trust me, if say BFG (Michelin) were interested in developing a modern 100TW race tire, it would be faster and wear better than a Toyo RR, which is itself a 100TW masquerading as a 40TW and based on 15 year old tire tech. No one cares how has the best 100TW because few (none) US motorsport sanctioning bodies have a rule set that favors them.

I guess I'll go with the RS4 over the rivals or any "track" tire.
