after waiting forever for my RS3's my wheel tire combo is finally here.
I know a lot of you hate on TRMs, and yes I would have liked 6uls, but the cost was too high AND the fact that every freaking miata on this earth has them kinda kills it for me.
TRM C3m 15x9
Hankook RS3 225/45ZR15
I love them, but there are some negative points:
- I wish I ordered bright silver, not grey (hoping they will look better when my car is a lighter color in the spring... more on that later)
- There was a small chip in one of the wheels...not worth bitching about
- TOO much stretch
- Need a light fender roll for peace of mind
- I now see how bad I need sway bars
I gotta say tho, hearing the sound of gravel being thrown up at my fenders does put a smile on my face
I LOVE STICKY TIRES!

Sorry for the cell phone pics. Even the Iphone 4 sucks in bad light.

my car is getting the knock off front lip that there was a GB on (I forget the brand) and is going Lotus Persian Blue assuming I can beg my buddies dad to let me rent space this winter.
I am also contemplating a mini cooper hood scoop and a rear bumper cut (mainly because the cut would remove 2 big gouges that are in my current bumper)
This winter is hopefully a "let dave make the miata NOT a pile of ****" winter.

Looking good...
I did the 6UL's in nickel (8") with the 225 RS2's and probably have 20 track days on them with no end in sight. my car is a 94M so same color as yours. I agree with you on the color and the stretch...alittle to much stretch and the grey doesnt look great. The rims look good otherwise....maybe not 6UL good looking but at least they are on the shelf somewhere.
Good luck with the RS3's...good to see the flames are on the inside of the tire - I remember seeing pics before they came out and the flames were on the outside edge of the tread....

Really? I was under the impression that these and the 6uls didnt fit without hitting for shocks like the kyb agx and the tokico illuminas. This is relevant to my interests, as Im packing illuminas and FM springs on my 2002. Ill probably wait for the cheaper 949 offering, personally, If i cant bear to part with the scratch for the 6uls.
They look real nice. You're right about them needing to be a brighter color. They don't really pop;but they do look sweet. I love the stance. Guess they won't last to long milage wise. haha.
How much trouble did you have fitting the x9's on a NA? I was under the impression it would take camber, and a fender roll to make them work.
Awesome set up though, I've driven Miata's on that tire and loved the damn things. Are just so easy to drive, communicative and stick great.

to not worry about rubbing/chewing up tire sidewalls, i cut the fender lips off. worked alot better than a roll, and the wheels can tuck with 225/45/15 nitto's no problem.

sorry, i don't have any upclose pics of fitment.
