Conti ECF ExtremeContact Force thread
I got my first set of ECF through the shop today, and thought it would be useful to show the actual tire.
Heat cycled, 245/40-17. As light as the A052, noticeably lighter than the RT660.
One of the easiest tires to mount I've ever dealt with, I have no idea if this is an artifact of the heat cycling or the bead design.
All seated at about 30 psi using Wurth tire paste.
Narrower than an A052 on tread, wider section width.
Four tires took almost no weight on 17x9 RPF1s: 1 had 0 weight, one head .75oz total, on had 1.25, one had 1.5. All visibly ran true.
Pics, comparison with four 245/40-17 Yokohama A052 with 50 street miles on identical wheels.

I heard that Conti engineered the ECF specifically for budget enduro and not autocross/time attack. Idea being to have the same heat cycle and tread life as an RS4 but being nearly as fast as an A052. Don't knw if any at that rumor is true. Just internet chatter.
Time will tell if the ECF can replace the RS4 and be faster. That, would be cool

Maybe, but we already have the RT660 which is just as fast as the ECF and much cheaper. I'd rather have an A052 in a 245/40 for raw speed.

I know it's still winter but anyone have some feedback on these?
I'm considering a set for my NC. A handful of track days a year and a couple of thousand miles of street driving only in nice weather. I was thinking RS4 but I want something a bit faster. This car only sees DEs for fun so never pushing like crazy.
I was thinking RS4 or even RT660. These are about $200 more for a set but if they wear like RS4 and are a bit faster that would be a solid win. Might try them on the endurance car this year too.
