TR is charging $118 for RS3s now?! Last month I only paid $108, I hope they drop the price or the hot new tire comes out before I need another set.
I'm a firm believer that a 225 RS3 on a 15x9 is faster on an auto-x course than a 205 Z1. I also believe that a 195 R1R on a 15x8 is faster than the RS3s/15x9, unless it's hot, the course has higher speed transitions and/or the R1Rs aren't shaved or worn.
I wish the Z1s came in a 225 and weren't so expensive. I figure a 225 Z1 would be really close to a 235, lol.

For spirited street driving, the star spec is a clear choice to me. At the track they hold their own as well. We have used this tire for the past 2 seasons in lemons/chump and it performs great.

Star Spec, damn good tire
Heat cycles - not too many
Loud, harsh, not grippy
Great tires, but mine heat cycled out in about 6 months and 6 or 7 thousand miles of *street* use.

Unidirectional tires tend to wear in saw tooth on cambered miatas, that's why they become so noisy. I'd rather have an asymetrical tire like the RE-11 I have right now on a 8inch wheel. The are very quiet, tons of grip on dry. Pretty decent on damp also.
I had star specs before and find the Bridgestone a more logical choice for daily driven, week-end lapping car. The more you push the RE-11, the more they give. The star specs became slippier when very hot compared to the Bridgestones.
The side blocks on the RE-11 are less interrupted and give more feedback, which is exactly what im looking for when driving spirited on the track. They have a 10-15% more ''at-the-limit'' grip then the Dunlops when the are hot. Im comparing a 1955015 on a 8inch wheel.

I didn't need to roll the inner lip of the fender, but I will probably need to if I go to a 225. I wanted 6ULs, but the TRM wheels were cheaper, and +20 is very sexy.
