Default NA: Konig FlatOut w/225/45/15 RS3

Flame suit on....

So I sold my bronze 6UL 8's for the price of this complete set-up. I was looking for something different and 6UL's defiantly aren't it. I wanted something with a bit more of an aggressive stance and still fit 225's under the fenders. When Goodwin announced the FlatOut's and said they fit over Wilwood's I knew they were for me.

Test fitment.

Mounted the tires and had to see them on the car before I could sleep.

Finally the next day I was able to pull it out of the shop and get some decent shots.

My driveway that afternoon...

Then later that day a Honda Accord decided to **** me up the ***!

I have an extra black license plate trim piece if you need it. Also a set of tail lights, one might be chipped a little-- I'll check.

OOO, I also have a trunk lid with a couple dents in it.. lol.

I was getting ready to say ugly. Then I opened the thread. I guess i'm just used to seeing them with 195~185 width tires.

Looks good.

Fixen to drop the hammer on these as well.
Your car sets about the same as mine.
How was the fit with the +25?
How much roll to the fenders?

Has anyone else noticed that the wheels have FORGED cast into the faces but they, um, aren't?

I have not noticed that, but I did know that they where not forged.

Price+weight+size ======

Worth looking at.

Quality will come out in the use. Not sure they have many miles on a set yet.

I have been searching around on the net and most info I have found has been on this forum, and thats not alot!

I dont think the 6uls are forged either, But. They dont claim to be. Does seem to be pretty ricey having the forged cast in!

Not to mention "RAVS MONOBLOCK" in the exact same font as a genuine $700 "RAYS MONOBLOCK". Personally, I couldn't bolt that much cheese to my car regardless of how cool they look. And I do think they look really cool. As do the Rays forged CE28N's of which they are copies.

Technically, one could sue Konig for falsely representing the wheel as forged. My guess is if Rays had a good lawyer, they would easily win a trademark infringement suit for the design, logo and name provided they are registered in the US.

I don't think it is a trademark infringement, the casts were just sold. And as long as they aren't saying "our wheels are forged" they can put anything on their wheel, can't they? I'm just playing devil's advocate here. Don't really blame them, part of the reason they're so cheap is they just took the molds and started making copies without any modification.

Their Wideopen sibling survived two track days, so I'm happy for now. They'll be my DD once everyone ditches the 15x9s for your new 15x10s

Is it easy to mount race tyres on these? Apparently the wide opens are a bitch!

Due to the larger lip on the wheels the drop center is pretty low and requires a bit of muscle to get a stiff beaded tire on. I didn't have much trouble, I just resorted to two irons and "walked" the tire on. Any competent tire monkey should be able to get them on.
