Have we already answered the question of which lasts longer: 245 VR-1 or 225 RS3?

I realize the VR-1 will be faster with enough power (230 whp +, right?) but which one actually lasts longer?

R888R holds up better than R888 regarding heat buildup (takes longer time to overheat).
They are probably a little faster in the dry, sacrificing some performance in the wet.
But this from a one stint test as front tires (rears were the same mature V70A).

A decent improvement over the R888 but not the fastest option.

The R888 is pretty universally reviled in the Miata world, so the R888R will need to be a substantially different tire to compete in this market.

Ya, what he said. They must be super sticky. The tread pattern looks the most aggressive which means they are the best.

I didn't read the entire thread but re Sav and the nt01s and rs3s, IME nt01 has a lot more grip but gets greasy on hot days. The Kumho v720 has equal or more (at least more consistent vs nt01) grip than either and wears a little bit better than the nt01 while not greasing; but they're taller than their specified size comparatively. (All 225/45r15)

FYI, multiple people chunked the V720s right out of the box when they were first released.

We had a set come apart on our ND and I have seen multiple sets come apart at the track AND autocross too. Not a fan.

Well crap. I'll have to try something else for my next set, I wanted the re71r but no 225 available. (and I'm not sure it'd last any longer than an nt01)
