Tirerack lists the 225 Rival as having an 8.5" tread width. Tread width is what matters on radial tires, not what the sidewall looks like.
IDK about the rivals, but I'm pretty sure either Emilio or Sav have data that 225 RS3s are faster on 10s than 9s (for high-HP cars on a 2:00 lap at least I think that's what it was, don't feel like searching for it). |
Rule of thumb for performance use:
Wheel width should be the same as actual tread width or slightly wider. I like the 1:1 idea. When anyone asks, just say 1:1 |
