K1's but I have them on my car. When I was running it on street tires with the crappy tune I had estimated at 300 hp there is more than enough tire back there to do the job. It would take a ton of tire to get traction in 1st but that is any boosted car, and I am sure you do not want to run slicks and do hole shots.

I guess I didn't think I needed to break it down Barney-style for this crowd, but yes, wider wheels allow one to run wider tires.
15x7 might be enough for some, I don't want to cram a 225 onto a 7" wide wheel. Anyway, let me break it down for you Barney-style. 225 on a 7 is not cramming, at all. 15x8 is not superior to a 15x7 (unless you are some turd track racer :fawk:) for a street car. It's all about side wall height and tire compound. I had to be convinced of this, luckily I had a friend do it for me. He decided to show me what a two-step, death launch was like in his E30 (over 450wtq). The car hooked first on 14x6.5 wheel with a 235 tire and nearly broke my neck. After I used a garden hose to clean out of my underwear I completely dropped my argument about why I needed 15x9 wheels for my car and he just laughed at me. |
What viperormiata said is true. For straight lines.
I like turning too much to put 225's on a 7" wheel. Done it before. |

Sounds like you had a damn good time in your friend's E30. I need some friends that can walk on my Miata :bowrofl:

PSHHHH! Corners are for suckers :hustler:
Straight line is where it's at :bigtu: |
Kosei's.
For lots of reasons but here's one most wouldn't consider - ease of cleaning! Kosei's are a breeze to wash compared to my 6uls. |
The Kosei's are probably the best looking wheels on the NA - I'd refinish them from white to gunmetal or black though. That has to be a bitch to deal with everyday
|
I wish mine were the factory white and not sprayed silver :)
|
I liked them best dirty after a trackday, covered in brakedust. I like the gunmetal finish produced by the XP8s.
|
Had the Kosei K1s, loved em, but those C1s are hot shit.

Just a tid bit, TireRack now sell Kosei K1's with 25mm and 30mm offsets. This should push the wheels out further making them look even nicer. You can also get them in 12.4 pounds weight.
|
I'm thinking of painting mine white, they need a facelift anyway. A ton of wax should keep the cleanup to a minimum.
Spyder, how about some updated pictures ? |
