Default what will fit? 15x6 sport wheels

Found a few threads and saw people with 15x6 sport wheels that had 225's on them, how wide can i go on the 15x6 wheels? is 225/50/15 ideal?

hell no, probably 205/50/15 for those wheels. only other size in 15s you can really run is 225/45/15..and for those I would want 7.5 width minimum... realistically about 8" wide up to 9".

The problem with the 225/45 is there are literally only a couple tire choices and they are all like 140 tread (might be a bad thing if you DD this car?).

in 205/50/15 theres plenty of choices... you could get some crappy DD tires for those wheels, and then get another set of wider wheels and run RS3s or something on them.

Just FYI I am running 225/45/15 RS3's on 15x9 wheels, it's stretched a little but still gives you wider contact patch and steering feel is very tight and responsive.
