My shipping scale says 14.1 lbs with a metal valve stem. But I don't get too excited about a few ounces of unsprung weight with 400 ft lbs of torque to offset it. My only concern with cast wheels would be breaking them with high cornering loads. That is why I'm not sure I would run these on the track. Autox no prob but turn 1 at Road America breaking down from 140 not so much.

I don't know what you mean by trolling so can't really say if I am doing it or not. I do know that the process that is used to make 6ULs and Emkeis yields less porosity in the material so they can be made with less material. Thus they can have thinner spokes and are usually lighter. Cheaper cast wheels like factory wheels have thicker spokes to ensure enough material is in them to support the load. As long as both wheel designs will take the same amount of load with no failure then I’m OK with the cast wheel.

Seems to me there are plenty of examples of broken wheels of all makes out there to make an argument about including this Konig Helium. I very much appriciate your thoughts on this and would like to know what wheel do you recommend and why?

For 15 inch wheels it is really hard to beat the 15x9 6UL if you get a lot of track time. It is pretty much the only 15 inch wheel that can fit the TSE BBK with the 11.75" rotors. It is also incredibly light and has been proven to be faster then a 15x8 around the track with 225/45/15 tires. Ideally this is what I would get but I will probably get a 15x8 wheel of some type so I can run 205/50/15 tires because this is mainly a street car and I can get a tire with more than 200 treadware in that size

Really? Grassroots Motorsports did a big test on that a couple years ago and could not prove enough difference to justify the cost super light wheels. As I recall they added like 5 lbs of wheel weights and it made nearly no difference in autox times.

he's talking about the size 15x8 vs 15x9. The 9's are faster around the track on the same rubber because of how they load up the sidewalls or something along those lines. Emilio and Savington both went into detail about this many times and both reported faster lap times with the 9's.

They are lighter and better quality construction/production.

I say this because I compared them to other china cast wheels like your STR's.
I also compared them to my previous TRM 3CM 15x9's

I realize this is like comparing turds, they're both still turds, but if I can have 1.5lb less per corner and less flaws in casting on comparable wheels, I'll always take that route.

Yes I was addressing the size of the wheel more than the weight. Although weight does make a difference. Even if it is only a little bit of a difference it is still an advantage that could lead to a close victory.
