Default AC Idler "Power Steering Delete" pulley

I've been looking for one for months and just missed an opportunity to buy one yesterday. If anyone has one (unlikely, I know), please let me know! I'll need it if it gets as hot as it was this weekend again (which quite likely will happen).

Thanks!

What site did you find it on?

in the meantime, just run a belt from the crank pulle directly to ac pulley, and use 1/4 washers to shim a decent amount of tension into the belt.

Miata.net classifieds. Had I merely looked earlier in the day I'd have had it.

That sounds like more work than I'd like to do if I can avoid it.

Ya that's pretty cheap. I also didn't want to mess with shimming the compressor so I set an alert for "miata power steering delete pulley" on ebay and one popped up about a week later for $120 and I bought it. It's pricey, between that and a new bearing/pulley if it's not in good shape, but I figure if I ever want to I can resell it for roughly the same amount. I forgot to remove the alert and within a month or so a couple more popped up at about the same price, so they're out there, just $$.

I'm really really lazy. I love to complain if something is hard.

It took me 20 minutes including jacking my car up, and removing the underpanel to shim the ac compressor. Use a small prybar to fit 3 washers in all locations. You just slip the washers in as a group of 3. Literally 1 minute or less per bolt.

Saves $

Plus you still need a different belt for either solution

Wow! $65 plus shipping for something that costs $0.06 to do yourself in 10 minutes.

You don't deserve a turbo.

I am the one that got it for $65 and I definitely don't deserve a turbo.

+1 on the shim alternative info. I was also looking to find one when & if I want to convert. I already have the rack. PS ok around town, but at highway speeds, kinda twitchy.

Eh whatever. If you want to deal with shims go for it. It's just a little too, you might say, "ghetto" for me.

I did find one eventually. Cost me way too much but being cool on the way to work yesterday was nice. Installation was a breeze compared to anything to do with power steering and I find it hard to believe shimming could have been as easy, but I've never tried it. Perhaps I'm missing out.

I don't deserve a turbo? I mean, I don't really want one either. I'm just on this forum because occasionally there's good info not related to turbos here, or good stuff for sale in the classifieds (that's how I got my manual rack in the first place).
